  1. Yes it is but not as easy as a few years ago.

You need to have the right qualifications (degree and TEFL certificate) in addition to being a native speaker of English.

There are jobs available in private high schools (lises), some state schools, universities and language schools.

Pay is very variable (from as lttle as 15ytl an hour).

Some schools are to be avoided like the plague!

    Good luck!

  2. Yes it is though be warned that they may seek European Union passport holders as first preference.  Research on tefl.com for more information.

  3. Yes. but only if you go to private schools! i used to go to Eyuboglu high school, before moving to Canada. They pay well comparing to public school teachers, if your coming from a different country they provide you home (in nice apartments)

and of course students will probably like you... =D

    Good luck!

  4. it possible to have a job but it,s all relevant to what you class as good which depends on your present circumstances. There are plenty of over qualified Turkish nationals/English teachers here who would love a good job my step daughter being one.Don,t forget the school system here may require you to work on Sat. and even Sun. sometimes..Of course you will require a work permit if your not a Turkish national.Good luck.

  5. Yes, but it's competitive. If you have good credentials, you may try the American high schools (Robert College, Uskudar American Academy) or Turkish private high schools with English as the language of instruction (Koç, Işık, Şişli Terakki, İstek, etc.). They would have better salaries than the state schools (Anatolian High Schools). Btw you may also have a look at the colleges and universities because most of them have compulsory ESL year.
