I know I know I know......I'm very paranoid I know. This has been established already, I can't help it!! I just want to be prepared for everything and have something to keep my future great great grandkids safe. I want to make a shelter that protects against everything, but haven't found anything on the internet. Anybody with ideas out there?

  1. To avoid volcanoes and earthquakes - live somewhere these things don't happen very often or at all (like North Dakota).

To avoid radiation, live in the shade.

You are more likely to get hit by lightning twice than hit by a meteorite, so don't worry about that.

To avoid bombs learn to become an intelligent, thoughtful, productive member of a free democracy and don't vote for people who drop bombs.

  2. Short answer, no.  And even if you could, you're gonna die anyway.  The chances of getting killed in a car accident or getting cancer, or even being struck by lightning are a million times greater than being killed by any of the things you are so afraid of.  Live life and enjoy it while you can.

  3. One word.  No.  Unless you flee to Jupiter, nothing can protect you from the sun's burning up.  And how will you get supplies in your fortified utopia of perfect safety on Jupiter?  The sun will swell up to the orbit of Mars, and Jupiter might even evaporate.  I'm not going to elaborate on this question because it is so obvious.  To be frank, I think you just wasted five points asking this question.

  4. Live for the day and get over fear. Each thing you mention is catastrophic in nature, but consider, what are the chances of any of these things happening in your lifetime? To build a shelter for everything you need to find scientific, or science fiction answer.

  5. How about the sun blowing up?

Actually, the most dangerous thing out there is driving to the Wal-mart to pick up supplies for you shelter.  The next most dangerous thing is dihydrogen monoxide -- be sure to avoid that.  Any how are you going to have grandkids, considering how dangerous s*x is?
