  1. Yes.  If we were all dead but in different positions.


  2. Equality is based on respect. If people respected each other regardless of their differences, the world would be founded on equality without sameness.

    People should be able to respect each other despite differences in

    1) language

    2) religion

    3) race/ethnicity

    4) socio-economic status

    5) occupation

    6) gender

    and some do, but not enough to bridge the inequalities that exist in the world today.

    I would say it's not possible to have a world in which people are equal but not the same because so long as people are different, society will stratify the people based on their differences.

    Sure it's a pessimistic outlook, but a realistic one as well.
