  2. Not likely, but not impossible. Cysts might be more common at that age however. Either way, if you felt a lump, you should have it checked out ASAP.

  3. It is possible, but very rare for an adolescent to have cancer in the breast. Adolescent and young adult cancers are different than adult cancers. Cancer is often age specific so you should learn about the types of cancer your age group is more likely to get. Breast cancer is more likely to occur in older women and not in teens. But . . occasionally it will happen . . so if you have an unexplained lump or bump that is painless and seems to be growing . . have it checked by your doctor.

  4. It is very, very unlikely.

    Breast cancer is mainly a disease of ageing; 80% of those diagnosed with it are over 50, it's rare in women under 40 and almost unheard of in under 25s.

    The American Cancer Society recommends that women start breast self-examination at the age of 20; there's a reason for that.
