  1. Use some Visine in that eye..you might have an allergy and I get it in just one eye.

  2. Yes, it's possible to have many forms of dry eye in one eye.

Here are some things that might help, and if they do, you should go back to a doctor to diagnose the specific cause of your dryness.

Try both warm washcloths, where you boil water in a CLEAN and NEVER USED TO COOK FOOD pot or tea kettle, pour it on the cloth, wait for it to cool a little and squeeze out some Water. Leave it on your eyelids for about 10 minutes. Then, using your clean hand, use one finger to pull your upper eyelid away from your nose (think of dragging it out like an  almond-shaped asian eye) and use a finger from the other hand to push down at, rub, or massage back and forth the lid margin, or the place RIGHT where your eyelids grow in. Repeat on the lower lid, and on the other eye. This helps encourage more oil to be on the surface of your eye, keeping tears there longer.

If your eyelids feel 'inflamed', try using a cold baggy. Take a ziplock bag, add a few cubes of ice and a lot more cool water. Do not fill the bag, instead pushing out any spare air and sealing it. Put a napkin on your closed eye and put the bag on your eyelids.

As for eyedrops,  use but try not to abuse. Do NOT go for any visine or 'get the red out' garbage. Instead, you need single-use vials of a good drop, like 'refresh lubricant drops (not refresh plus!)' or 'bion tears.' Again, they must be in preservative-free single use vials.

A very important aspect of dry-eye care is night-time protection. Use an eye drop, like bion tears, theratears gel in single use, or refresh celluvisc, and then put on a snuggly-fitting eye mask. This helps discourage tear evaporation and encourage complete eyelid closure.
