Is it possible to have granite cabinets?

I am a very obsessive compulsive person when it comes to matching. I was wondering if you have granite counter tops, or even marble counter tops, if you could match and have marble or granite cabinets. Would it be possible, or would they be too heavy?

It wouldn't be practical because of weight, let alone cost.  

As hard as it may be for you, try letting go of the idea that you need to match things, and instead embrace the idea of "coordinating."  If you go overboard with matching, things become visually stale too quickly ... then you're obligated to change everything in an effort to freshen the look.  

Perhaps you can find cabinet and drawer pulls that are granite or have granite in them.  It may be helpful to think in terms of color or finish SCHEMES vs. single colors or finishes.

Anything is possible. You just need heavy duty hinges and supports. I saw some cupboards with marble and granite inlays and that was absolutely stunning and it was a nice contrast. I am sure that you can cut the granite thinner and mount it.

It would be tooooooo heavy BUT you might be able to do a faux finish on the cabinets to match. I get my water based primer tinted close to the paint color...prime.... use craft paints mixed with glaze and crumpled up plastic bags to do a faux finish followed by a water based poly. Just google faux granite or marble finishes. Good luck!
