Is it possible to have just free local TV thru Direct TV instead of the package I never watch?

I just like the clear reception, I dont want a package for $29.99 I heard you can have just local channels for $4.99 but its not listed on their site,and the phone reps know nothing...or they just ain't saying?

No you cannot, you need to subscribe to their service and then add locals for 4.99  Another option is to install an antennea (sp) and just get free HD locals directly to the TV (as long as the TV is HD ready.
