  1. a non-resident of France can only have one account

the best interest rates are in the UK, especially ISAs but the stock market yield is usually better over a number of years

  2. Yes, you can.

I have several bank accounts myself in the UK, US, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

You can open an account in these countries either online (if the bank permits it and has a website), or fly over and open an account in person (much easier and straightforward). As for interest rates, you'll need to shop around - but yes, the interest rates on foreign accounts can be much better than in the UK.

  3. Yes people do it all the time to avoid paying excessive taxes in the UK when they have a lot of money.

  4. Tons of people have bank accounts in Switzerland in addition to the country where they live. They're popular because it is their policy not to release any personal information- even to the police if you're under investigation. Swiss banks have been linked to money laundering schemes.

It's a good idea to get one for the rates, but if you have a job where you might be investigated and you can't afford to look suspicious, you may not want one

  5. You can have as many accounts as you want wherever you want, just decide which bank you want and apply for the account online/by post.

  6. Sounds dodgy to me   , are you on the fiddle or laundering?

  7. ya oh course
