is it possible to have a viruss or bacteria for months and not really have a flu or cold. i have green snot everyday, more when i smoke the night before, but i dont have symptoms of being ill or anything. it is kind of annoying to and stuffs me up everyday unless i exercise really good. im better fit than ive been in a long time but i dont feel like it cuz my nose (mostly left nostril) is always plugged up so i cant breathe perfectly. and if its antibiotics i need, how much would they be for a person with no health insurance?

  1. Yes, it's possible.  It sounds like you may have a sinus infection.  I don't know how much it would cost because it depends on what prescription you are given.  At my doctor's office, if I tell him that I can't afford the prescription he either changes it to a cheaper one or he gives me free samples.  Many doctors will do that.  But you will still need to pay for the doctor's visit.  Some doctor's will take a portion of the payment up front and then allow you to make payments on the balance though, but not many.  You can also try to find a public clinic.  A long time ago when only my husband was working and we didn't have much money, I went to a public clinic.  When they gave me a prescription, they also told me to go to a particular pharmacy with a piece of paper that they sent with me to give the pharmacy.  I only had to pay $3 for the prescription.

Plus, Walmart sells many prescriptions for only $4 nowadays.  But only the older medicines.

  2. It is probably a sinus infection.  They are very common, especially in smokers, and many times there are no symptoms.  The green snot is an indicator that the white cells are fighting something.  The more active the white cells are, the more likely you are to have green snot.  Antibiotics are not always necessary, but you should check with you doctor just in case.  There are free clinics and clinics that charge based on your income.  You should have it checked out.....
