  1. Not really... however, in my audio classes my prof. was telling us how Mariah Carey was the only female who could cover like 3 octaves??

  2. I believe i have 2 voice types and both come very naturally i have my powerful voice then my quieter higher pitched voice which i dont like so much...but when in my powerful voice when i cant reach a note i switch to the higher pitched one and i can hit it....if that makes any sense at all lol ... they are both very different...i know what i mean :P

  3. Not really.  The name for that would be a very wide vocal range where you can cover Alto, soprano, etc.  Because you span all those areas that covers that vocal type.

  4. No, but you can be a specific voice type that has a very wide range. Voice type isn't just about the range of notes you can sing, it's about the timbre and tessitura of your voice too. This is also shown in the different sub-categories of voice-types - coloratura, soubrette etc. =) x

  5. As someone above said, you can only have one voice type, but if you have the vocal range, you can cover ranges on both vocal types.

  6. If you mean, can someone have different ranges (pitch wise) then yes of course.

In lots of choirs, I know of people who sing alto and soprano or bass and tenor etc.. although some people do it more successfully than others.

    :)
