Currently i have my factory stereo (chevy cobalt 2008) with a amp and sub running with a RE-Q bass restoration system. (the re-q works instead of getting an aftermarket deck) all i need to kno is if i can hook up my speakers to a 4 channel amp instead of powering em off my factory stereo

  1. Yes, you can, however if you aren't confident in your wiring abilities, you may want to take it to a professional.

We tried wiring my daughter's car for her new speakers and amp and found out later that the wiring we used wasn't capable of handling everything we were hooking up to it.  When we finally took it to a professional, he had to rewire the whole thing and it was costly.

    Hmph, lesson learned.....

  2. Yea...  my friend has it that way

  3. Yeah, you can do that. You need to get an RCA converter tho.

^something like that would work well.

What it does it take the wiring that already runs to your speakers and converts them to be used as signal wires with RCA cable for your amp.
