I am wondering if I can buy a router and hook it up to my computer that is already using Wi-Fi to get it's internet.

there is a router in my basement, not hooked up to any computers.

The signal is transmitted to my computer upstairs and I would like to hook up an additional router to the computer to transmit another signal.

Is this possible? or does a router need a direct connection to a cable line? Thank You!

  1. hmm i also want to know this P

  2. yes it possible but if you going to run a wirel from PC to router then router will only work if PC is on.

Do it this way so both router is on 24/7

First router port 4 connect to second wire port 4. That it and both router should work.

If your first router is wireless only then you will have to use your PC.

You need to creat a network bridge with the 2 internet adpater(the one recieving and the one passing it on)
