Is it possible to hook up to different ipods on 1 computer and have 2 separate music library's for them?

So, yea. I'm living in a house where 2 ppl have ipods. But there is only 1 computer. All of my songs have to go to his ipod. Is there anyway we can have two separate music Library's?

  1. Ya its super easy all you have to do is get to ipod usb connectors hook em up and on itunes it shows as 2 different libraries


  2. Yes - if you have two separate installtions of iTunes. But the best way is to create separate playlists for each iPod and then associate them with each one. My iTunes library is accessible by 3 iPods - each of which has different sync lists.

  3. Yes you can. Those above are wrong.

    To create to different libary's on itunes. Double click like you would to start it up, but while it is loading up, keep your finger held on 'Shift' then a little window will ask saying if you wish to create a new libary, open a libary, or quit that window, and then from then you just click a new libary. And you should make sure you save the libary in your music area, so there is not confusment.

    in any case, you wish to change libary, then just hold down 'Shift' while itunes is booting up. then select choose libary, then go to either libary you wish to select.
