I just bought new speakers for my computer, but now I have an extra set. I was going to just put them in storage, but then I started wondering....

Is it possible to hook up both sets of speakers to my computer? Both sets have 2 satellites and an amp. Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

  1. Yes. You need either 2 Line Outs on the back of the computer (sometimes you can change the microphone port to be a second Line Out, etc, depending on your soundcard) or you can use an adapter to split the Line Out that you do have, into 2.

It would be the same adapter you use for plugging in two sets of headphones into an MP3 player, for example.

  2. I used my headphone jack and bought a cable that has the stereo mini plug on one end (which fits into the headphone jack) and it has the stereo RCA plugs (red & white) on the other end...I plugged that into one of the inputs on my reciever
