Is it possible to improve PS3 online gaming to decrease lagtime?

My DH likes to play CoD4 and RS Vegas online, we live in a small town in Europe (meaning only ADSL), TKS gave us a combo modem/wireless router (across the room from PS3),we have the highest speed available to us but he still only gets 2 "dots" most times he plays. He can't even use the mic otherwise it gets worse. Any suggestions?

ur best bet is to make everything wired. u might have to get another router. but thats what works.

plug direct ( wireless is a lot slower )

use a longer cable and plug direct.  as for the mic.. a usb mic doesn't use a wireless signal like a bluetooth, so won't interfere with the signal

Switching to wired connection is better, indeed. It's safer, faster and secure. I use a wired connection.

I think you may have stated your problem. You stated that you try to have no more than two on at a time. By having more than one source using your bandwidth, it creates lag. Try having only the PS3 on, and you should notice a huge difference.

if you can't get a wired cnnection then move your ps3 closer to your router
