  1. You not due yet, so try to relax and take advantage of the quiet you have now!

Nothing you eat or drink can make you dilate any faster, especially if you haven't started naturally on your own.

Good luck though! Hopefully mother nature throws you a bone, and decides to help you out a little faster!

P.S sorry you have to keep hearing 'baby will come when it's ready',(I always get 'thumbs downed' for it, about 5 times this morning, self induction is a popular topic) but honestly I'm not saying it to annoy you!

  2. There isn't anything you can do.  Baby will come when s/he is ready.  My advice is sleep and rest as much as possible.  Trust me once that active labor starts you will start thinking "I should have slept through my entire pregnancy for this."

  3. there is no for sure way. the baby will come on its own unfortunately. i was due yesterday and tried everything to go into labor for the past week. try s*x, walking, squatting, pineapple, raspberry tea, castor oil (i wouldn't recommend it though, i have heard some bad things), going up and down stairs, driving down a bumpy road, going on a 4 Wheeler drive, acupuncture and more walking! nothing has worked for me but it doesn't hurt to try! good luck and congrats!

  4. I had a mid-wife with my 1st child and she said evening primrose or drink castor oil, I don't suggest doing any of these without talking to your doctor, when I did it i was under doctor supervision.

  5. only if the baby is ready.u can try s*x,walking and squats

  6. Nipple stimulation works to help you contract.  It takes a while though and does cause very strong contractions .. Your OB should be aware that you are trying this technique.

I wouldn't recommend taking herbs as they can be dangerous if not taken properly.  Although Raspberry Leaf Tea is safe and can be purchased at health food stores~

Castor Oil is NOT something I recommend!  All it does is stimulate you to have very strong bowel movements and also gets into babies system and causes baby to move his/her bowels while still in the womb .. not good for baby!

I hear tropical fruits (ie; pineapple, papaya, mango, ect.) help .. Although, I ate a whole pineapple last week with no results (I'm 38 weeks prego) ...

Walking is the best.  It always worked for me (Walking all day put me in labor that very night with my last two pregs).

s*x is also a good way to help speed things up .. The big "O" helps get contractions going and sperm has a way of helping ripen the cervix.

Good luck!  Hope things go smoothly for you!

  7. I feel your pain!!!

I tried everything, walking, s*x, rasberry leaf tea, reflexology, massage, accupunture, bumpy car rides, kerb walking and curry food. NOTHING worked.

Your baby will come when its ready! - dont worry I got sick of people saying that as well.

Enjoy the quite time you have left.

Good Luck - your little one will be here soon.
