Is it possible to install 3G in a mobile phone ?

if yes please how is that done? also, does it really , matter using a non 3G phone? if yes please why?

If the phone is not 3G capable then it cannot be installed as it is a hardware feature of the handset.

The advantage of 3G is speed in using data services such as email, web browsing, downloads etc.

Speaking from personal experience I can say if you are happy with the other features such as the media player, user interface, camera etc then 3G is not a huge deal. I had a blackberry 8700 that was 3G but there was no upgradeable memory card, whereas my Blackberry Curve is 2.5G has a great media player and upgradeable memory card so its actually been more useful for surfing, downloading etc than the 3G one.

3G is a facility or a capability. If the phone is not 3G capable then you are dead in the water. It needs to be built that way.

Then you need a service provider that offers 3G services and sign up to them.

So ... if your phone or operator do not support 3G you are stuck with what you have
