I've already had my permit for the required amount of time. However, due to random circumstances such as being out of the country for a while and not having a car I could use, I haven't been able to practice. School starts in about a month and a half for me, and I desperately need my license by then. It's too far to walk, and there's no city bus, and the school bus costs about 6 or 7 hundred dollars which I can't afford right now. My parents can't take me either because they work and no one I know lives near me that I can carpool with, so the only way I can get to school is by driving. It's summer, so I have tons of time to devote to this everyday, so I'm wondering if it'll be possible for me to get my license before then.

er...how will you afford to run a car?

Do you own one already? Will you pay for gas and insurance? And, how far is "too far"?  Surely you only have to pay for the school bus on a weekly or monthly basis?

  3. Yes you can !

    Just practice these simple rules:

    1) Always look in the direction you are going.  And I don't mean using mirrors -- turn you head and look back if you are backing up, and so on.

    2) Look far out into the direction you are traveling.  Learners tend to swerve left and right when driving -- keep looking out maybe 100 feet, not the road right in front (10 feet) of your car.  This keeps you from over-steering.

    3) Practice braking.  If you have confidence that you can safely stop under any circumstance, you  will not be afraid to drive.

  4. definitely, once you get the hang of it it's smooth sailing!

  5. You'll need a very good teacher.  From personal experience, DO NOT GET PARENTS as your teacher.  Get relatives, neighbor, or friends to each you.  The instructor my have patient and must remain calm.

You'll do just fine, enjoy the vehicle and be safe!

  6. You can get your license anytime now, make your parents take turns taking you out to practice driving after they come home from work. It should only be necessary for a few days to get you comfortable to be able to pass your driving test. You can then continue to build your confidence buy driving your parents to and from work, until school starts.
