Is it possible to make $100 to $300 /day recycling cardboard?

I met this guy that collects cardboard for a living, he said he wakes up at 3AM and stops working at 12PM and takes home on average of $250 / day and he kicks back the rest of the time. Is this possible how much money is old cardboard worth? what do you guys know about this thanks MN

Yes, it is possible if he can collect about 1.5-2.5 tons of OCC . I guess he is collecting it from some supermarket or huge consumer durable shops where there is lot of packaging. When I was in Dubai I have noticed that a certain Hypermarket disposes about half a ton occ everyday.. The municipality had a seperate recycle container for them.  This guy must have access to few of those.. Since he gets up early he may have the advantage of getting them first.

Also some of the companies pay to haul away them. If he is smart, he could export it and get a better price.. There are several wanted offers at  http://www.recycleinme.com/buyoffers/pap...

He must be charging stores or other businesses to haul it away.    

It's not a very valuable material, about ten buck a dumpster full.

Absolutely. Recycling corrugated cardboard is very profitable. Many companies that deal with large quantities have to keep thier used cardboard in a secure area; theft is that common.

it all depends on the cost you get paid for the cardboard but yes it is possible.If the collection area is compact and you don't have to drive for miles you can make money.Better money is in scarp metal like copper and aluminium,even old car batteries can get you $5.00 each
