  1. I don't know, but my mother makes falafel using fryer, I think

you need a fryer, buy one or borrow one.

  2. I make them all the time, I ama former chef and use fresh and canned beans a mix for flavour and matzo meal or breadcrumbs to coat and cook mine in a non-stick skillet like little falafel patties.

This make them crispy with out the mess of the fryer oil and you can keep the fat down and load up your pita with the sauce and veg with more food.

I use tinned chickpeas, I also buy a brand here in Canada with fava beans with the chickpea, fresh peas or fava beans, process it with garlic, tahini - sesame paste, lemon juice a 1/2 cup of falafel mix and some warm water, then when I go to cook them I make the patties and them dip them in the crumbs and cook them in a lightly oiled pan, I like mine crsipy so I cook them well, then in the pita with the tomato, onions, lettuce and cabbage, tahini garlic sauce and I am a chili head so either harissa or a good brand of hot sauce, even some hot greek or jalapeno peppers.

  3. Yes you can just buy one of those packs from the shop and am pretty sure you can put them in the oven if you have one

  4. No time to make your own falafel? Check out our favorite falafel mixes.

    INGREDIENTS:

1 cup dried chickpeas See below how to prepare.or 16 oz. can of chickpeas or garbanzo beans.

    1 large onion, chopped

    2 cloves of garlic, chopped

3 tablespoons of fresh parsley, chopped

    1 teaspoon coriander

    1 teaspoon cumin

    2 tablespoons flour

    Salt

    Pepper

    Oil for frying

    PREPARATION of dried chick peas

Place dried chickpeas in a bowl, covering with cold water. Allow to soak overnight. Omit this step if using canned beans.

Drain chickpeas, and place in pan with fresh water, and bring to a boil.

Allow to boil for 5 minutes, then let simmer on low for about an hour.

As said above there are falafel mixes in the grocery store.
