Is it possible to make a Cichlid Pond?

Would you need a REALLY BIG HEATER? Thats what I thought .

  2. its possible but i would keep the cichlids in a tank when they are small then switch them to the pond when it is done

Yes of course it's possible.  What makes a pond for cichlids, and assuming you mean Africans, any different then any other pond really?  About the only differences might be the water chemistry really.  Ok so maybe a Koi pond, you don't need a heater as these are cold water fish, but still, any tropical pond, maybe that's the better term, is going to need to be heated in some way.  I don't think you'd really need to specify a cichlid pond, since cichlid doesn't differentiate between SA, CA or African.

  4. well where do u live? lol. get like a pool heater. lol that would make life easier. um ya it should be ok. if u live somewhere where it gets super cold. (12degrees and below) i wouldnt try. nothing stays warm enough in that kind of weather.

  5. Ya it is. But you do need a good heater.
