  1. I have to ask,Why?  The price you would pay for conversion will be more than the price of a new Mossberg 500 or the Norinco copy of Winchester 97 trench gun, both of them have bayonet lugs. To convert your 870  I would start with a short slug barrel and use the bayonet lug from a GI shotgun.  Find them at gun shows or on line at www.gunbroker.com or Numrich gun parts.


  2. Probably..but why would you want to? If you do anything permanent to your firearm, you'll bring the resale value of it down.

  3. Actually, a bayonet is one of the most useless things ever invented.  If you read up on the history of warfare, there are very few references to them being used successfully in combat.

  5. Why would you want a bayonet? If anything it would throw off the balance of the rifle.
