Is it possible to make a fish skin mount larger?

Ok so heres the deal. My older brother caught a pretty small largemouth bass a couple of months ago. I don't know why, but he wanted to get it mounted. We dropped it off at the taxedermist and waited for it to be ready. So, today we went to go pick it up, and it looked huge. It's absolutely insane, it went from about 2.5 or 3 pound to 5. So my question is, is there anyway that you can stretch or enlarge a fish by skin mount?

  1. You can't stretch a fish skin that much -- that's like adding 3 or 4 inches to the length or a lot of girth (or both). I think (if it's a skin mount) you got a different fish. If it's a fiberglass mount, they just gave you one out of the mold made from a 5-pound fish.

(Or maybe your brother's fish was larger than you remember it -- did you measure it or get a good photo you could compare the mount to?)

  2. sounds like he got somebody elses fish

  3. Someone elses fish or you misjudged the fish to begin with. you cant stretch the fish skin so one of the 2
