  1. It certainly can be done. Many high rise hotels have rotating restaurants on the top floor.

The engineering for having a fully rotating building is complex though. The connections for services such as gas, water, electricity, and sewage would be a nightmare but it has been done.

  2. The 1962 Seattle Worlds Fair was centered around the Space Needle.

As for a building rotating for your own, people have created a room, fixed all the furniture to the walls and ceiling. Then mounted this on a spindle that allows someone believe they are walking across the ceiling by having a camera mounted to the floor.

  3. yes, there is one in the philippines and one in singapore, i think it's a restaurant but i've never been to any of them, 'fraid i might get dizzy.

  4. Can be done. There is one here in NZ that I know of. I don't know how all the services are connected (plumbing, phone, electrity etc), but it can be done

  5. Yes but what would be the point in that you would use so much power to lift a building and I have seen bridiges that lift up 1" and rotate around to let ships in and out.
