Is it possible to make something go completely invisible and how would this work?

I was thinking of maybe nanotechnology, but im probably wrong. Is it possible to make a solid invisible?

  1. See through cells? Unless it's transparent, I don't think so.


  2. Ask my mom to put it in a "safe place" and the item will disappear for years.

It is possible.  Don't listen to anyone who says it is not.  We may not be capable of it but it has been proven to be not impossible.  If you could prevent light from being reflected off a solid and also for light to pass through it with no changes to the light then you would render the solid invisible.  Scientific American magazine has had a few good articles on this idea.
