I am visiting my boyfriend in the UK this December and dont want to go through the hassle of filing the paperwork for the fiance visa. So would it be ok to just marry him while I am there and then settle down. Or would it cause problems? By the way I am american.

  1. There is no way around getting the proper visa. Understand that the Border and Immigration people do not care about your love for each other -you must simply obey the rules. I am married for 24 years to my foreign sweatheart and they still deported her.The English Government are unholy, evil ba$tard$ and have no respect for marriage or love. It would be best to either marry in the US or apply for a settlement visa.Check the border and immigration website or the immigration advisory service website for FAQ. They will deport you if you don't do things right.Even if you have just given birth they will deport you. They are cold heartless people. I hate them with a passion and cannot wait to see them out of power. www.unwelcome.org

  2. it would cause problem but since you guys can travel easily to Denmark go ahead and marry there. You just need a valid passport and birthcertificate.

  3. If you go to the UK on a six month visit visa, you can't marry him there. You can marry him in America and then apply for a spouse visa and go to the UK and be with him that way, if you want to avoid the extra expense/hassle of a fiance visa.

The only way to marry him in the UK would be if you got permission through  a certificate of approval (CoA). To qualify for that, you need to be there on a visa that is longer than 6 months, hence why doing it on a visit visa won't work.

Believe me, I tried. Im American and just married my UK sweetheart in America. We tried doing it in England and it wouldn't work, so he came here and we got hitched.

It's a very unfair process with lots of red tape.
