Is it possible to melt a tree?

Me and my friend have a running argument on this, so can I please resolve saying that I was right. I think that you can not melt a tree.

  1. yes it is possible!!! you have to first vacuum out all the air because what do you have to have to make a fire? fuel, oxygen, and heat. Then you heat it up to a very high temperature.


    For all of you all that said:yeah if its a rubber tree, THAT IS NOT TRUE.
    You can melt a tree. It has been done before! Look it up.  Because I did.

  3. It is definitely possible to melt a tree.  Its how paper is made. You just can't do it with heat alone: you need chemicals to soften it up first.
