I have always wondered if we could transport most of the human race to another planet to avoid natural disasters like a black hole, or the end of the world (the end of earth).

  1. No you can't move most of the human race to another world because there is 6 billion humans and the number is still growing, so in order to do something like that you would have to spend all the money on the planet and it would take 200 or 300 years of volunteer work for this to happen, so that is why my answer in No.

  2. No.

  3. with todays technology,no it can`t be done.

  4. There has been discussion in the scientific community to green up mars and it's said they're on the edge of creating artificial life, They have a fairly bold agenda before them but the time frame is not certain....james the hollow earth man

  5. it is possible to move the human race to another planet but provided all basic necessities like oxygen, food, must be there. but till now the astronomers couldn't able to fin d such a planet in the know universe.

human can survive in those  negative environment with new technologies like artificial gravitation chmber, oxygen chamber and carry food from earth, but for some period of time not for the whole life.

may astronomers and space scientists find  the planets which are very much like our  earth someday.

  6. It is not possible to transfer the human race to another plant at this time.  As we make progress with space travel it will become possible in the distant future.  First we have to find a planet that is capable of supporting human life, and that is within a reasonable travel range.

  7. No. We couldn't even transport most of the people from Europe to America. There simply aren't enough ships and planes to ever do it. And we have thousands of times more ships and planes than space craft.

  8. It might be possible one day. First, you'd need a fleet of interstellar spacecraft capable of speeds at least 10% the speed of light, with a combined capacity of 6 to 12 billion people (if this is in the next 100 years or so), and enough space for food, animals, plants, other supplies. Oh, and I guess you'd need a destination. Yes, you'd probably better find a planet capable of supporting 6 to 12 billions humans and their hangers-on before you set out anywhere.

    Know of anywhere?

  9. Let’s have a reality check kiddies.

We have transported 3 men to the moon on 6 occasions at immense cost such that USA govt stopped financing it.  We can regularly put a team of 9 up to orbit – just a couple hundred miles up.

The nearest planets, Mars and Venus, are hundreds of times further than the moon, and terraforming a planet is an interesting idea, but is so far from the reality of our technology that its stupid to even talk about it except on a science fiction forum.

The stars are hundreds of thousands of times further than Mars and Venus (do you need to read that again to get it in your brains).

For goodness sake, go read about rocketry and why payload is the big problem – a 380 foot rocket was required to launch 3 men to the moon.

Do you know the problem?  We get so much sci-fi and kids see so much fantasy on the TV and internet that they are losing touch with reality and have totally unrealistic expectations with technology.  Space travel is absolutely in its infancy.  In regards to travelling to the stars, its equivalent to some aborigines setting forth on some quiet backwater in a dugout canoe.

  10. there is a lot of people in the human race..:)

however in the future maybe a number of key skilled people will be sent in numbers to another planet to pioneer..

  11. Realistically, there are probably not enough people who will agree to volunteering. Also, there are probably not enough natural resources on the Earth to power so many ships so many times. And there aren't any planets nearby that can support life.

We don't need to worry about such natural disasters now.
