Is it possible to negate multiple lasers by converging them on a single point in midair?

For a science fair light-saber. A laser should be able to meet and intersect another laser-beam negating it (the negated laser would negate the other) at any angle if they are both projecting reversed wavelengths at the focal point (in mid air four feet away from the apertures). Right?

  1. Wrong.

The principle of superposition tells us that the spot where the lasers meet can have zero light amplitude (due to deconstructive intereference), but the light will only cancel at this one point.  After the beams intersect, they will continue until they hit an opaque object.

  2. NO.

I cant believe how many Star Wars Geeks think that light sabers are real.  ALL electromagnetic waves pass through each other.
