  1. Too much of anything can kill you......

  2. No, the overdose of lsd doesn´t exist, the dangers of lsd and salvia depends in the place you are and the people who is with you. set and setting.

  3. First off they arent the exact same thing.  I think with those type of drugs overdose makes you kill yourself... not sure though.

  4. http://www.Salvia.md sells the most potent extract I've ever tried.  They also have the most complete library on anything salvia related.  I also love Kratom - it's like opium but legal: http://www.Kratom.md

  5. Yes, as with everything.  The popular conception of "overdose" is incorrect, an overdose is just an excessive or ill advised dose, that's it.

The poster claiming folks have died in california is wrong.  Salvia will not kill you.  It is a kappa opioid agonist, and you'd have to take a ton for this pathway to negativly effect your health, its simply not an important physiological pathway for life functions.  The kappa opioid pathway is in many respects a modulator of the mu opioid pathway associated w/ narcotics.  The two are in some ways inversely related, so while mu can cause loss of sensation, depressed breathing and cognition, kappa will cause the opposites in many cases, and very generally.

LSD is unlikely to kill a healthy person.  Its effects include a vascoconstrictive effect similar to coffee, some SSRI's,or similar stimulants.  If you take a ton this may get relevant to your cardiovascular health, acutely, but even huge doses are unlikely to effect you negativly besides psychological manifestations.

As for the claim that people jump off buildings on LSD and whatnot, anything can hapen.  But anyone whos tried it knows your not in a trance or whatever, the serotnoergic activity makes you much more acutely aware of what's going on.  While you may be more prone to impulsivness, as most serotonergic drugs will cause this- like SSRI's, you are not likely to decide its a good idea to jump off a building.

I'd like to see some stats as to how many documented cases these folks can link deaths to LSD and Salvia.  The only thing they can likely find are disturbed individuals making bad choices, which is clearly not a physical manifestation of the drug.  Their was a kid who killed himself about a month or two after mentioning salvia in his journal, and this somehow gets labled a salvia related death... crazy.

So stay safe and dono't worry, but yes, it is possible to overdose on anything, coffee, LSD, Salvia, and alcohol.  It's all relative.

  6. In the realistic sense no.  You could potentially but you would need to take in ridiculous amounts.  Salvia you wouldn't be able to smoke fast enough to ever overdose.  LSD would require several thousand hits to overdose.

  7. You had some good answers.  I just want to add that people die from LSD not just from OD-ing, but from delusional, dangerous behavior after taking LSD.  An LSD high is similar to psychosis, which results in people under the influence of LSD doing things like walking into traffic & trying to "fly" off bridges & buildings.  They are generally disoriented and unable to appreciate the dangerousness of their actions.  Also, people are often beaten & mugged and girls raped while they're "out of it" on an acid trip.

As for Salvia, in California we've had many deaths due to ingesting dangerous amounts.  Keep in mind, too, that these are hardly FDA approved medications for which each unit is guaranteed to contain the same dose of medication.  With a tab of acid, or a bag of Salvia, you have no way to know how high a dose of the active ingredients you're going to end up with.  Could be low, could be what you're expecting, and could be very potent & send you to the hospital (or morgue).  No way to tell.  Much better to leave that all that junk alone.

  8. Depends in what form it is taken, the medical background & health status of a person.

    That out of the way,

LSD comes in several different forms. The most common is paper blotter. Other forms include gell caps, liquid, and gelatin. Each form will contain different quantities and purities of lysergic acid diethylamide. The chart below shows dosages for pure LSD measured in micrograms (ug). Micrograms are 1/1,000,000 of a gram.

    Oral LSD Dosages

    Threshold20 ug

    Light25 - 75 ug

    Common50 - 150 ug

    Strong150 - 400 ug

    Heavy400 + ug

    LD50 (Lethal Dose*)12,000 ug
