  1. If you have the money to pay for rent then ya you can...

If you don't then get a job in order to pay the rent...maybe your boyfriend can help and pay as well...

    take care ;p

    (by da way...I'm 17 too! )

  2. *takes a deep breath*

First, you want to make sure you are pregnant.  Second, you may want to make sure you don't live in a state where a 24 year old having s*x with a 17 year old doesn't equal statuatory rape.  Third, you may want to live with either your parents or his at least for the first year or so of that baby's life.  You're going to need help.  Something tells me that a 24 year old having s*x with his 17 year old girlfriend may not make the best father.  Fourth, have you thought about the money for the apartment and expenses?  In the summer, you can easily spend $150 on an electric bill alone for a one-bedroom apartment.  Food for 2 people is anywhere from $50 to $100 a week, depending on whether or not you want to eat junk or real food.  (If you are pregnant, you're going to need nutritious food.)  Cable and internet?  Cough up another $100.  Phone?  At least $30 for a regular phone.  More if you have a cell phone.  I haven't even covered rent, toiletries (toothpaste, toilet paper, etc.), or baby items.  I'm sure you won't be working the month or two before you are going to give birth, nor the month or two after you give birth.  That's 2-4 months AT LEAST that the guy will have to be earning $1000 a month to provide for the whole family.  Want to go on Welfare?  Better pay attention to the dates on the paperwork.  Everything I just covered is the tip of the parent iceberg.

Back to the original question, you are 17, and no landlord in their right mind would put someone under the age of 18 on a lease.  The 24 year old boyfriend and 17 year old girlfriend couple isn't going to look too good on paper either.

  3. Anyone under 18 cannot sign a contract legally.  You can be put as a occupant of said apartment.

  4. If you're emancipated and/or married to your bf (which would, in a sense, make him your legal "guardian").   I don't think legally you can rent your own place at 17, though you might want to check the laws on that where you live.

  5. Legally you're still a minor who by law can not sign a contract in most states. As much as I would like to see you stay with your parents I don't know you or your situation and you may be mature enough or in a bad situation.

Either way your boyfriend is of legal age. He can rent/buy the apartment and then when you're of age you can be put on the deed. You could also have your parents buy your interest for you  now and then turn it over to you later on. Consult a real estate lawyer in your area for the best course of action.

  6. hard to come up with the money for down payment. Most states, the law doesn't you to dom business at 17.

  7. Well he could own a house, or apartment but I advise you to stay home unless you have to move in.  It costs lots of money to live separetely from parents.  It would help if you had a job.
