Is it possible to plant a coconut tree an animal crossing: wild world?

I've tried everything.

planted it in the sand area. (beach)

planted it on a day it rained.

watered it...multiple times.'

and it still won't grow!

i've killed like 10 trees and its rediculous!

some help? =]

when you have waterd it try feeding it !!!
