No. Two different machines. Xbox 360 is current gen, Xbox is last gen. Same as asking will PS2 play PS3 games?

When in the history of game consoles has the old console run games made for the new one? I hate to be rude, but I mean come on. Why would Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo sell so many of their new game consoles if the games would run on the old ones. This question has been asked so many times and it still annoys me how stupid some people can be.

If your question was can an XBOX 360 play XBOX games then yes. The only thing that will play XBOX 360 games is an XBOX 360

you can play original games on a 360, but you have to download something to be able to play every original xbox game on the 360.

No because when they made the xbox it didnt have the hardware to let you play 360 games on it. You can however play xbox games on the 360. go to xbox.com/games for more info.

no, i believe the X-box just have the software needed to play 360 games.
