Is it possible to play against other bands in Rockband for the wii?

On the 360 you can play against other bands. In guitar hero III for the wii you can play against other people also. Can you do this in the wii rockband if so how?

u cant play against other people online but u can locally

Just another reason to hold out and buy the Guitar Hero: World Tour version coming out this fall.  With GHWT, you'll be able to play online, create songs, and download other songs from other individuals.  I really don't understand what they were thinking when they made Rock Band for the Wii.  Its a scaled back cheap imitation of the other consoles' version.  Actually, I do understand it.  It was another way for them to make a quick profit before Rock Band 2 comes out.

In Rockband 2, probably. But harmonix decided to c**p up the wii version by taking out DLC, Wifi, and Character customization
