Question:

Is it possible to pre-book TGV seats from outside of France?

I live in France and work in the middle east. I am not fluent in French.

I will be returning home via CDG airport next week and hope to catch the 10.37 TGV from the airport to Rennes.

On all the TGV sites I can find it seems that when you want to pre-book and pay they always want to send the tickets to an address. The postal service here is not straightforward and time is short so that option is not a good one.

What I really want is to pay, or at least reserve a seat, and get a printable voucher or a a confirmation that my seat is booked.

I will be in plenty of time at CDG so dont mind a wait at a ticket booth but I am just a little worried about availability.

If you are able to help please be as precise as possible as I have tried many times to find the right site.

Any help gratefully recieved. Thanks in advance.

  1. Hi

I did a similar thing a few years ago, booked them for collection through the SNCF website, should come up if you google it. Because they are tightening things up now because of anti-terrorist laws and credit card fraud you may have to phone up the central reservations number, they are really helpful and most speak english, might be a quicker option.

got to say though that I am surprised you can't book for collection.

    Good luck and take care
