  1. Do you mean ultra sound, or super sonic?

    ultra sound is simply sound which is above the frequency that we humans can hear. A whip would produce that.

    If you mean super sonic, then a whip can produce that too. Basically the whip is moving so fast that the ends are going faster than the speed of sound. The characteristic crack a whip makes is actually a sonic boom. This was not realised until the advent of high speed cameras as people assumed it was the ends of whip hitting itself.


  2. Yes.  It's also possible to produce ultrasound by hitting a nail with a hammer, snapping your fingers, etc.  Most "noise" sounds are a broad spectrum of frequencies, including some above the range of hearing (ultrasound).

    Whether you can get anything useful out of the whipcrack's ultrasound is a different question, with the answer probably being no.
