  1. Hey Chris,

You sure can put a mountain bike front suspension fork on a BMX as long as the head tube is a 1 1/8, but you are going to have to use a front disk brake set up.  You also need to have a new 20" front wheel with a disk hub built for this conversion, because you will be running a 20" inch wheel on a fork made for a 26" wheel and rim brakes won't work.  You are going to want to stay with a 100mm travel and under fork, because you are going to have a lot of rake with the longer suspension fork.

There are suspension forks made for 20" wheels that will fit a BMX frame, but these are lighter duty forks made for recumbent bikes or kids 20" mountain bikes.   Hey, hope this helps ya.

    Kimber

  2. I would veer towards no, cos the head angle on a BMX isn't correct for a suspension fork. The frame is likely to snap.

  3. Yes it is possible to put mountain bike forks on a BMX bike but the problem with this is that BMX bikes were no built for this sort of thing. they were built the way they are for a reason if you really want to change this go ahead but i highly recommend that you leave you bike as a BMX bike not a cross between the two.

  4. I made my son a mini MTB bike by using a BMX frame and a mountain bike suspension fork.  Kimber hit it spot on with the front disc brake and as long as your front headtube is a 1 1/8 you can mount a mountain bike suspension fork on the frame.  I used a Manitou SX 100mm fork, but lowered the fork to a 80mm by cutting the top out elastomers and leaving the spring alone.  I used 2 weight oil in the TPC dampener to make it really supple.  I also had a Shimano XT hub laced to a 20inch BMX Sun Big City rim.   So, yes it is possible to mount a suspension fork on a BMX frame.  Good Luck
