  1. Austin G you are incorrect!  There is a way I have been working on custom firmware for my Ipod nano and I have not only gotten movies to play on my ipod but gameboy and gameboy advance games to play as well along with games such as doom.  And I have nearly perfected a guide to ipod custom firmware which gives you exact instructions on how to hack your Ipod feel free to reaserch yourself but for the perfect guide check at zxcvbnm714.diinoweb.com I will upload a guide there soon If it is password protected e-mail me at zxcvbnm714@gmail.com.

  2. The newer models of the iPod nanos handle video (i have one). you can tell which one does video, because it is short and stumpy (see pic, it's the one on the right).

They do need to be a certain file type, but if you have a mac, this is easy, someone out there made a free program called iSquint (http://www.isquint.org/) that does nothing but convert video to iTunes/iPod format.

I'm sorry but I don't have any recommendations for PC.

Perhaps some one else can answer with some suggestions.

  3. You gotta convert it, go to the apple store and search for the appropriate program depending on the extension you have in your file and check also the size... once you have that check for a converter to mpeg and transfer

  4. You should make sure the video is MP4 or H2.64 video for iPod. Here is a step by step guide about converting DVD, Videos, Flash and Youtube videos to iPod

Other useful information you can get on Apple official site:

  5. If your home movies are on DVD:

It also works great to put DVD movies on iPods, and the quality is pretty good. You can't beat free!

  6. no you cant put any video on a nano only a video ipod
