Is it possible to VHS record a programme from a TV with integrally built-in Freeview when the TV is actually switched off?

I know I can record from a stand-alone digi-box without having the TV switched on provided the digi-box is switched on, but can the same be done when the digi-box is integral with the TV?

  1. No.

When the TV is switched off, there is no signal to the video player.  Therefore, all you will record is a white-noise screen.

You are far better off buying a DVD recorder with a built-in Freeview tuner.  You can then record whatever programmes you want, whenever you want.

  3. yes you can
