  1. If you want to eventually transfer the video to your PC, it'd be easier if you used a DVD  recorder instead of your Tivo.

A DVD recorder is similar to a VCR, but uses a DVD-R to burn shows onto it, instead using a video tape.

Connect the DVD recorder to your TV as you would a VCR.

Connect the PS3 to your DVD recorder - being sure to use one of the recorder's INPUTs.  Now, set the DVD recorder to use the input you connected the PS3 to (e.g. "in1".)  If everything is setup properly, you'll see your PS3 on the TV screen.  When you're ready, put a disc into the recorder, and hit the Record button.  Play your game.  When you're finished, hit the Stop button on the recorder.  Once you've verified you have the footage you want on the DVD-R, use the recorder to finalize the disc.  If you don't do this step, the DVD-R won't be readable by other DVD drives.  Finally, pop your newly finalized DVD-R into your PC's DVD drive, rip, edit, and convert the video as you see fit.
