Question:

Is it possible to record shows saved in my DVR to my VCR, (Time Warner Cable)?

We are going to be downgrading very soon to Lifeline cable, as we noticed the only channels we watch persistently from extended and digital are Nickelodeon and Noggin, lol. Anyways, I don't want to be left without at least one tape of kid shows in the event of a Mommy-needs-to-breathe emergency.

So, can anyone explain, step-by-step, how to transfer saved shows from the DVR to record onto my VCR before I return it to TWC? Thanks!!

  1. this is easy. Just connect the output of the DVR (which now runs into your TV with either coax or cables) into your VCR - so, unplug the cable(s) from your TV and plug them into the input of the VCR - and then run another cable from the VCR output to the TV where the DVR used to plug in... then, on the TV play the show(s) you want to record to the tape and on the VCR hit RECORD... thats it.

  2. it should be easy....disconnect the cable from the dvr to the tv....now hook up that cable to the vcr....then run another cable from the vcr to the tv....once its hooked up you can record from the dvr to the vcr and monitor what is being recorded through the tv..
