Is it possible to reduce air pollution and dependency of oil by using teleporters for our daily travels?

You figure if we use teleporters to get from point A to point be we wouldn't be using gas so it would release us from using foreign oil and we would also at the same time boost the economy because we would free up all that money that was spent on oil Geeze why doesn't our government think!!!

You're right, but the government wouldn't like because they don't get recurring tax revenues from it, so they will quash it.

Sorry-No. Never. (A) It takes energy (fuel) to build and operate a transporter. (B) The Second Law of Thermodynamics says every time you transform energy you loss some energy to Entropy, so you actually lose  more energy than you possibly save. (C) "Teleportation" has, sort of,  been done in a lab at Bell Labs and So. Calif. Univ., but they were "teleporting" Quanta and, they claim now, a sub-atomic particle. but that is a long way from molecules, let alone a complex life system. FINALLY- If they get it to the point of sending you- your memory, in fact everything you know, is not in "hardware". It gets lost.  michael

Teleporters do not exist, so saying we should use them is no more helpful than saying we should use magic.
