No-one bothered to tell me that toothpaste would leave a stain on my T-Shirt, so I didn't wash for 2 days. When it came out, I found that there was a stain (lighter spots). Is is possible to get rid of it, I only bought it last week!

  1. It sounds like your toothpaste may have bleached the shirt, rather than staining it.  I have gotten toothpaste on my shirt tons of times, but it has never NOT washed out in a normal wash load.  So I'm thinking that you have one of those uber whitening toothpastes with a lot of peroxide?  Peroxide acts like bleach.  It's actually the main ingredient in Clorox 2.  Try using a stain remover and washing again..if it doesn't return to normal, it's pretty certain that the shirt is bleached, which can't be fixed without re-dying the whole shirt.   Sorry!

  2. That's probably caused by the hydrogen-peroxide (stain-fighters) that most toothpaste manufacturers add. Since the fabric is now lighter (versus a stain that would make it darker) it would be pretty hard to reverse it. You should call the 800 number on the toothpaste tube, see if they have any suggestions.
