I know there is a rule that babies and toddlers must be seated in baby/booster seats when they are in a car.

But is it possible to rent those seats too when I rent a car in Japan?

Rent-a-car shops offer those seats?

  1. Good question!

    Yes it is!

    It's quite reasonable too.

My sis does it all the time when she visits Japan.

Let me give you one example page from Toyota rent a car:

    http://rent.toyota.co.jp/en/rental/main0...

"Child Seat JPY 525 (W/O Tax: JPY 500)/72 hours "

*Scroll down to see the types available.

This is the English page, you can switch to the Japanese page if you like.

Many of the rental car co.s offer "extras and options", so check them before reserving your car.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

Here's the link in Japanese for you:

  2. Yes you can.

    It depends on rent-a-car companies

but average cost is 525yen for 3days.

under 6 years old children are required to be seated in baby/booster seats when they are in a car.

and need  reservation for them when you reserve a car.
