I am a british citizen with a UK passport and full driving licence; planning a North American trip; for my Alaska/Canada section!

I want to pick up the car in Anchorage, driving into canada (through the yukon and british columbia); back in the US leaving the car in Seattle?

wondering if that is possible?

most national companies won't let me check online, and am confused about driving canada/us plate car in either countries!

  1. Not sure about whether or not you can do it from Canada, but I'll just say you're going to get punished big time by renting at point A and returning at Point B- especially between Anchorage and Seattle.

    I moved just 100 miles away and had to rent a van. Between mileage, gas, and the fees, I could have flown.

  2. Check out the following Link....  from Avis.

    They have a one-way plan from July to September from Anchorage to Seattle without a penalty.

    It's the only thing I saw when I did a search.  (I live in Seattle)

    Good luck and I hope you enjoy your trip.  Make sure you have adequate sleeping accommodations lined up.  It's 2270 miles from Anchorage to Seattle and a lot of wilderness in between.  :-}

  3. I'm not the smartest person when it comes to auto repair. Last year I had some problems with my Toyota Avalon and I wasn't sure how to fix them. I tried to search the Internet for help, but the procedures were way too complex for my skills. I ended up going to the dealship for my repairs. The dealership tends to charge more than mom and pop repair shops, but they've seen all sorts of situations (auto insurance problems, repair warranty issues, etc) and they seem to always find a way to help me. Maybe you can try calling auto repair shops in Washington to see if they can help you. http://www.autorepairshoplocator.com/Was...
