  1. After reformatting ... no.

    When you "erase" a file you just erase a reference to the file, the file is still there and until a new file is saved in the now "blank" spot, you can retrieve it.

    Reformatting pretty much obliterates everything.  I do not believe any commercially available software will help you.

    If it's extremely valuable information contact a data recovery company, but you are talking 1000's of dollars to do that ...

  3. Yes, it is technically possible. There are no guarantees that it will work, however.

    Reformatting normally just destroys the file structure, not the actual data itself.  This just means that all of the stuff that was in the files is still there, but the computer doesn't "remember" where one file starts and another ends, and considers all of it to be "empty" space. Some software can recover the data by examining this "empty" space.
