Is it possible to ride an elk?

Elk, Bull (Male) are around 600-1000 lbs, elk cows (female) is around 600 lbs. A Bull elk (male) can be 5 feet tall @ shoulder, and 10 feet long.Antlers of a prime Bull (male) elk cak be five feet tall. They are wild animals, probably wouldn't be a good idea to ride an elk.Yes an elk probable could carry you with ease!

A gelded elk may be doable if he is tame and properly raised for the job. Elk have been used to pull sleds just like reindeer and reindeer can be ridden so an elk is probably safe enough for riding.

Actually, the correct question is, Will the elk allow you to ride it?

Elk aren't that small, and I suppose that you could ride one.  But it would have to be very tame . . . . .

They are a lot bigger than some animals that are ridden, but I don't think they have the temperament for it.  Maybe if one was raised and trained from a young age, it's possible.  People have ridden bison, so why not?
