  1. yeah I think you should be able to do it.

  2. dropping 5 mins in 10 weeks should be doable i think. i'd say to run every other day at your current pace. but each week throw in 1 long/slow endurance run OR a speed workout(either hills or an interval). about 4 yrs ago i ran a 36 min 5k. and dropped it to 26 mins in just 6 weeks. i was a lil outta shape and it was 100+F when i ran that 36 min tho so, but still 10 mins in 6 weeks, u can do 5 in 10. but thats what i did, ran every other day, but threw in a 5 miler per week running hills. HUGE improvement.

i also wanted to say it only ran about 20 miles per week. if you're doing 35/wk u should totally be able to drop that time. just make sure to rest your body, its just as important as logging those miles.

  3. of course!!!! you can do whatever you put your mind to. just remember the take a break. dont run every  day. u will wear yourself out. oh and take good care of your feet. get some good running shoes good luck!!!!!:D

  4. Yeah it's possible. Just be carefull not to set your self up for injury; new runners are suppose to increase their mileage gradually. I would not start out with 35 miles a week. To reach your goal, you can't be injured. Good Luck!

  5. Hello,

If you can run your 440 intervals consistently under 1:30, you've got a real shot.  35 miles a week is a great base for a 5k.  Make sure that you don't increase your mileage too quickly, or else you increase the chance of injury.  Check out the links below for some other tips.  Best of luck!
