Is it possible to run electricity to my shed by connecting the electrical wire to our outside lighting?

  1. Yes.  But it is infinitely better to connect the electrical wire to your neighbor's outside lighting.


  2. It's not the correct way to do it.

    The distance to your shed and the amount of power you need determines the size of the wire and it should come from the electrical panel on its own breaker.

    18" deep in PVC or direct burial cable.  I don't remember the depth for rigid but your not going to use that anyway.

    Then there is the building permit.

    against code, dangerous.

    it needs to be buried to the depth required by your code in outdoor PVC pipe and hardwired to an electrical box.

  4. need to know how far the shed is how far the light is from the electrical panel and what you are going to run in your shed
