  1. I think you can easily save half of your salary but it depends on your lifestyle. There are a few easy ways in which you can save more: Try to use bus-transport in stead of taxi's where possible and try to prepare most of your meals by yourself in stead of buying take-aways all the time. It would be easy for you because you are two and can share expenses like groceries, rent and water and electricity. You would still be able to go and visit all the landmarks and enjoy your stay without worries.

We are living in the UAE and are saving a lot of money and still enjoy the stay.  We are two persons currently living on one salary and have no problems so you would definitely be fine!

  2. yes, ofcourse you can save morethan 2000, if you live in sharing accomodation, you can get good clean bedspace for around 1000/- aed and the rest is transportation, food, and miscellenous, you can save half of your salary. But again it depends on your lifestyle.

    goodluck

  3. if u r single and live in shareing u can save 4000 with care

  4. Friend what you can save is very much your will. However, I will try and answer your question by giving you an idea of expenses. I am living in Dubai for the last 15 years. Following should give you a fair idea for expenses in a month.

Sharing (paying guest) Bachelor accomodation - Aed 1000

One bed room apartment per month - Aed 2500 to Aed 5000. These are very difficult to find. Two bed room - Aed 4000 to Aed10000.

Food for one month eating out at small places should be Aed 750 to 1000. You will have to use the public transport busses which are first class and very cheap, at times the soaring heat in summer makes it difficult to walk long distances. Taxis are not very costly but are not able to meet the demand of the big tourist boom.

  5. Your spending is entirely under your control. I have got a studio flat - brand new, a brand new car (over 130,000 ), I give money to my parents monthly and I still save money.

Its easy however to spend alot of money on stupid things, so one does need to be careful.

Good luck. I suggest you make an expenses table in Excel and try to note down your major expenses on a monthly basis, compare for a couple of month and then you will be able to establish what you need to live on and what to save.

    Good luck!

  6. yes, you can save more than 3000 AED
